Inspiring Citizenship
Fostering Respect, Leadership, & Compassion for a Pluralistic Society
We cultivate a positive culture of leadership, stewardship, advocacy, belonging, and inclusion. By providing students with the foundation for empowered citizenship, we work to ensure that every student has the confidence, wisdom, and compassion to contribute to a pluralistic society.

Our Vision for Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders
Foster Self-Awareness and Respect:
Through academic and advisory curriculum, encourage introspection that empowers students to develop a nuanced understanding of themselves and respect for others. Through intentional programming and reflective practices, cultivate an environment where students are encouraged to explore their inner selves, recognize their strengths, and embrace their unique identities. Simultaneously, we aim to instill a culture of empathy and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds and perspectives within our community. This dual focus on self-awareness and respect for others enhances personal growth and builds the foundation for a brotherhood far beyond our gates.
Model Courageous Conversations:
Model brave, intentional conversations that demand reflection and accountability. Tackle difficult topics head-on, using them as opportunities for growth and understanding. By modelling how to engage in these conversations with honesty and respect, every voice is heard, and real change begins. These discussions are essential for developing leaders prepared to confront and address challenging social issues.
Develop Transformational Leaders:
Through co-curricular programming (e.g., student leadership, chapel, and speaker series programming), showcase transformational leaders who drive change, intentional stewards who make thoughtful decisions, and informed advocates who champion social change. Encourage students to embrace these attributes through their formal and informal leadership endeavours.
Promote Community Engagement:
Integrate real-world experiences, partnerships with local organizations, and opportunities for community service into the daily program, ensuring students understand the complexities of social issues and actively participate in addressing them. By fostering a sense of responsibility and agency, we prepare students to take on leadership roles in their communities to make a positive impact.
Inspire Engaged Citizenship:
Our citizenship programming is at the core of our commitment to developing socially responsible and engaged global citizens. By integrating complementary citizenship initiatives across both institutions, we offer students opportunities to participate in meaningful, impactful activities beyond the classroom. This programming enhances their understanding of civic duty and inspires them to shape their local and global communities actively.
Tactics
- Develop a comprehensive student citizenship program integrating community service, leadership opportunities, and civic education. This program will include mentorship with community leaders, social justice initiatives, environmental stewardship projects, and active participation in school governance, all aimed at fostering responsibility, empathy, and a commitment to global and local citizenship.
- Celebrate and honour the diverse cultures within our school community by actively recognizing religious and national holidays. Leverage these opportunities to showcase traditions, foster inclusion, and deepen cultural understanding across the school.
- Seek to provide a variety of local, accessible trips that immerse students in diverse cultures, government systems, languages, religions, and communities to foster a deeper understanding of global perspective and promote meaningful cross-cultural engagement.
