Build Foundational Skills:

Prioritize the development of essential literacy and numeracy skills that form the basis of academic and personal achievement. Ensure that students master fundamental competencies, providing them with the tools they need to excel in all areas of learning. Building these fundamental skills will lay the groundwork for continued growth and the confidence our boys will require to navigate their next steps, whether at school or beyond.

Inspire Ethical Leadership:

Encourage students to become champions of social change by fostering a strong foundation in ethical decision-making. Ensure that, where appropriate, courses include content which requires students to wrestle with ethical and moral issues. Leverage co-curricular and leadership programming to help students grapple with the issues of leading with integrity, making responsible choices, and how best to positively impact a particular community. Seek to graduate young men who will navigate the complexities of the modern world with a strong moral compass.

Cultivate Critical Thinking:

Encourage students to engage in reflective thinking by prompting them to explore and question ideas from various perspectives. Require students to justify their thinking through evidence. Where appropriate, ensure course content addresses complex local and global issues that can be viewed from various perspectives and viewpoints. Design curriculum and assessments to challenge students to engage in the habits of mind necessary for productive decision-making. By emphasizing critical thinking skills, our program will more closely align with our mission, particularly cultivating responsible citizenship.

Create an environment where students are supported and valued for their unique strengths and perspectives. Continue to ensure the classroom experience is primarily about the metamorphosis of the boy as he moves through the stages of learning with technology that redefines his world and teachers who understand that the right instructional strategy, implemented at the right time, can accelerate and compound learning takeaways.
