Entrepreneurial skills showcased at Grade 12 McEwen Fair

Grade 12 students presented pitches and tended display booths featuring their entrepreneurial venture ideas to staff and students during Monday’s McEwen Entrepreneurship Fair in Staunton Gallery.

The event serves as a culminating task for a large project-based learning initiative in which the students explore the driving question: What good or service should be introduced to the marketplace to fill a gap and create consumer demand?

The business plans included information regarding the venture’s marketing strategy, financial projections, operating strategy, and resource management. The event was a huge success, with students and staff jockeying to hear the various pitches, which featured several unique and feasible venture plan ideas.

The McEwen students also pitched their business plans to a panel of guest judges. Here are the award winners:
