On the evening of Friday, December 13, Roy Thomson Hall was filled with festive cheer as St. Andrew's College (SAC) students presented An Andrean Christmas. From the lively procession of Grade 5 toy soldiers to the stirring final notes of O Come, All Ye Faithful, the concert captured the essence of the season with spectacular performances and heartfelt joy.
The stage sparkled with a variety of musical acts, including the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pipes & Drums, Middle School Band, Symphonic Band, and the Andrean Voices choir. Joining them were a few talented students from St. Anne’s School (SAS), as well as the SAC & SAS Dramatic Society, who delighted the audience with playful skits and dazzling displays of movement.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the breathtaking duet of The Prayer, performed by Ethan St. Pierre, a Grade 11 SAC student, and Idara Udom, a Grade 10 SAS student. SAC Head of School Kevin McHenry and Board Chair Mark Etherington even received a surprise visit on stage from Santa Claus himself!
A particularly moving segment saw Old Boys gathering to the stage, joining current students to sing Amazing Grace and the Dorset Carol. This was especially poignant for the Prefects and grads, who realized this would be their final An Andrean Christmas as students.
The concert also celebrated the visual arts, with stunning displays of student artwork featured in the program and projected on the screens, showcasing the exceptional talent of SAC’s Middle and Upper School artists.
